Adolescent Client Feedback "Amie has always been genuine and raw with her own past which for myself removed the stigma of ‘failure’ around my childhood experiences and instead made me focus on the successful, incredible woman she became despite her circumstances . Among-st the many lessons Ive learnt from Amie my most cherished is - its how you deal with the trauma that defines you, not the trauma itself. Her work style takes a fresher , more responsive approach to therapy and has helped strengthen my relationships and communication skills with myself and other woman . Amie’s work is a necessity for the modern teenager as she doesn’t preach textbook psychology, instead she tries to better understand us and the world we live in and if I may add she does an incredible job of it. Amie for many woman is not only a counsellor but a role model and for me that will always be her greatest quality."

Education Staff Feedback" I have had the pleasure and privilege of working alongside Amie and her Chrysalis program for about 4 years now at Alstonville High School. During this time I have seen many young women (students from years 8-10) learn lifelong skills to battle their demons and turn sadness and anger into empowerment and compassion. With lots of those butterflies having the confidence to become leaders, looking out for others in their school environment, extended community and formulating pathways towards helping others in their careers. This really warms my heart...the Chrysalis Program works! Without giving too much away, what I love about Amie’s Chrysalis group, which has been formulated in direct consultation with the girls, is the comforting consistency of the sessions; The flow; The skills that are shared with the group to learn self regulation; Relaxation; Self love; Self worth; Keeping safe; What it is to be a woman in our world today. This counselling group allows each individual to be just that, to be comfortable and strong in their own skin, to feel safe, to accept it’s ok to experience emotions, to feel loved and appreciated and to recognise the gorgeous young women that they are."

Parents Feedback
"I highly recommend Amie as a counsellor. I took my niece Lola to see Amie for many sessions when she was approx 9 yrs old , after she had lost her mother to Cancer and had experienced her parents divorcing and custody battles . Amie was there to counsel my niece at just the right time ( a very crucial scary vulnerable time ) . Lola felt safe and supported and heard with Amie and was very keen to go back for further counselling , after her first session . Lola has said since , how it really helped her navigate tough times at school as well during times of bullying in primary school .
Lola came away from each session happier and more confident . It was clear that Lola was given the tools to cope with all that she was experiencing at that time of grief and loss and school challenges . Amie also helped prepare Lola for high school . As Lola’s aunt, I can also see how now at 15 , she can communicate her views with more confidence and stand up for what she believes in . I am very pleased we chose Amie to help Lola at that crucial time . Thanks Amie ." 25/3/2020 |
